If you were to tell 15 year old Melissa that she would become someone who loved public speaking, she would have called you a liar.
Public speaking, like the majority of the population, was always a huge fear of mine growing up. In fact, I used to pretend to be sick in grade school just so I wouldn't have to give presentations. But, thankfully, a lot has changed since I was 15.
Conquering that fear has become something I am incredibly proud of. Not only am I no longer afraid of public speaking, I actually thrive off of knowing I'm able to help others achieve their goals by sharing my experiences and expertise.
Melissa in Action
I've had the privilege to experience all kinds of public speaking opportunities. Whether it's sitting on a panel of experts or moderating a panel of experts, or getting on stage in front of hundreds of people, or recording a podcast episode to be listened to for years to come, I've all but seen it all. Here are a few examples:
- Moderator for a panel on "Personalities & Models Impacting Positive Changes". More than 49,000 tuned in to watch the panel featuring well-known personalities like Nigel Barker, Richie Rich, Sofia Resing, Arizona Muse, and Mister D. The host of the event said that Melissa was, "one of [her] favorite moderators" of the entire event.
