Starting my career at a startup means that I have to be a well-rounded marketer, a project manager, a copywriter, a data analyst, a speaker, a designer, and a leader.
When I first started my career, I joined a barely-off-the-ground start up as the Marketing Manager and its second ever employee. We worked out of the office of our CEO's Father-in-Law, I received personal checks, and we were working to grow the company to 50 paying customers. Fast forward to nine years later and that company has grown to 80+ employees with more than 700,000 members around the world.
For the first 4 years at Tailwind I was the marketing department. I built our email marketing campaigns, I designed lead gen assets, I created a social media presence, I wrote blog posts that positioned us as industry leaders - you name it, I did it. Starting in 2018, I took on managing our community, events, sponsorships, and affiliate marketing function, growing it into our #1 owned channel for signups.

What is Community Marketing? How I Built a Profitable Community.
Affiliate MarketingI love affiliate marketing. It's a microcosm of everything I enjoy about marketing. From enabling affiliates to drive top of funnel awareness to helping them bring home sales and commission, I love helping thousands of affiliates grow their business while growing Tailwind's revenue. Since I first implemented the affiliate program at Tailwind, I've been able to grow it from a brand new program to one of ShareASale top 100 merchants with more than 10,000 affiliates. It's consistently one our top referrer of signups and upgrades every single month.

2016 Addy Award Winning Campaign
To introduce our members to Tailwind's brand new Instagram dashboard, I created a double-sided content calendars for Pinterest and Instagram. These calendars were sent out in a custom-designed mailer with stickers and a hand-written note inviting them to "try something new" in the new year. All of the assets were designed, written, and put together by me. This campaign ended up winning a 2016 Oklahoma City Addy Award.
Events & ConferencesAside from speaking at events, I've also managed all of our conference sponsorships and planned fun events for our members across the country. I've hosted cocktails on a rooftop in New York City, sponsored a booth at Social Media Marketing World, held events with influential marketers in San Diego, and even hosted a table at Pinterest's headquarters in San Francisco - just to name a few. These events have deepened our relationships with members, helped increase brand visibility, and even helped recruit high-impact employees for the company.
